Birds!

The birds are returning for spring. They are building nests, and chirping the whole while. They’re a sign of renewal, and of cheerful, warm-sunshiny days ahead. Get to know your birds. David Allen Sibley, world renowned ornithologists, has some of the best bird guides you’ll find. His writing style and vivid illustrations will help you identify even the trickiest bird.

For the youngsters, we recommend Every Day Birds written by Amy Ludwig VanDerwater and illustrated by Dylan Metrano. There are bits on several birds which is sure to grab your little birdwatcher’s interest.

One picture book we really love is called Birds, which is written and illustrated by Brian Wildsmith. This sweet book was first published in 1967, so you’ll likely have more luck finding this gem at your local library or at a used bookstore.
