Happy Leap Year!

Today is February 29th – Leap Day!

Today is the 29th day of February – a day/date that happens only once every 4 years. This means we get a whole extra day this year to enjoy nature because it’s Leap Year. Why do we have an extra day? NASA Science Space Place simply explains, “It takes approximately 365.25 days for Earth to orbit the Sun — a solar year. We usually round the days in a calendar year to 365. To make up for the missing partial day, we add one day to our calendar approximately every four years. That is a leap year.”
