Winter Fun
It’s the January-February stretch of winter which means winter has offered us some opportunities for sledding or skiing (downhill or x-country), for tracking animal prints in the snow, and for watching the fluffy stuff fall from the sky through the window. What ways do you like to celebrate winter? Here are some ideas: initiate a friend gathering to ice skate at the local hockey rink, choose to read a book set in winter-time, build a snowman, create paper snowflakes with your family, paint a snow-covered vista, watch your favorite winter film, try a new outdoor winter activity, such as ice fishing, snowshoeing, or curling, plan a winter walk through the woods, enjoy hot chocolate or tea with a friend, or read some poetry about winter. Enjoy!
We share some info about the importance of winter play for kids on our website here.
