Arbor Day!

“I feel a great regard for trees; they represent age and beauty and the miracles of life and growth.” ― Louise Dickinson Rich (1903-1991)

Celebrate Arbor Day this year! National Arbor Day is always celebrated on the 4th Friday of April. This year it falls on Friday, April 26, 2024. Arbor Day was started in Nebraska in 1972 by newspaper editor and politician, J. Sterling Morton (1832-1902) who loved trees. The Arbor Day holiday was recognized nationwide in 1970 under President Richard Nixon. How will you celebrate? Will you learn about some trees in your yard or at the local park? Will you donate your time at a local roadside cleanup this Earth Month to help ensure healthy woodlands along roadways? Will you teach some friends about the history of Arbor Day and plan an event this year to celebrate trees and support forests? Here are some other ideas from our website about actions you can take to support our planet.

Jiliaa is the new kid on the block that I’ve recently found. I gave it a spin and honestly, it’s not too shabby. Good for killing some time. See for yourself at: jiliaa.
