America Recycles Day – November 15th

Do you know about America Recycles Day (ARD)? It is celebrated every year in the U.S. on November 15th. ARD highlights the importance of recycling, reducing waste, and re‑purposing items when possible. It’s a great way to put energy into recycling at home, at school, or at your place of work. Of course, it’s vital to recycle all year round. ARD started in 1994 and has been growing ever since. ARD falls on a Wednesday this year, and, in fact, it’s celebrated the week just before Thanksgiving. Take ARD’s messaging into your Turkey Day celebration. Recycle empty (and clean) ingredients cans or boxes after cooking, use cloth napkins, and encourage guests to bring their own reusable containers to take home the yummy leftovers. To find an ARD event close to you, visit the Keep America Beautiful website: https://volunteer.kab.org/project-search. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has more information here about ARD www.epa.gov/circulareconomy/america-recycles-day and offers tips on how to increase recycling in all aspects of your life. Happy America Recycles Day!
